New Year New Chapter

The Fowles family recently purchased the remaining Plunkett family interest from Alan Plunkett, marking a significant milestone and new chapter in the evolution of the winery.

The Fowles family has done this because we are excited about the Strathbogie Ranges as an emerging Australian wine region and the opportunity to put the region on the global wine map.

In the circumstances, Sam Plunkett has decided to pursue other challenges, including focusing on his Master of Wine.

Many of you know Sam personally, so will be aware of the huge role he has played in the Fowles Wine team and, while he will be missed, he remains a great mate of Fowles Wine and we look forward to working with him to promote the Strathbogie Ranges long into the future.

Victor Nash will now lead our winemaking team. Victor has worked alongside Sam since 2002 and has had day-to-day responsibilities for the winery since 2007 – so there will be no changes in the award winning wines you enjoy with us.  Sam has always said that Victor is an outstanding winemaking talent and we look forward to Victor continuing to highlight the best from the Strathbogie Ranges, each vintage.

There is a lot to be excited about as we look forward to 2012, and we’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your support and hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Best wishes,

Matt Fowles.
