Functions

Thank you for considering Fowles Wine as the venue for your function.  Our cellar door is quickly gaining a reputation for exceptional wine, food and service.  There are many possible function formats available, whether it is pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the courtyard, or an intimate dinner in the cellar door.

Our cellar door will comfortably sit 80 guests for dinner.  If you are considering a reception for more than this, there are other options available, so please discuss these options with our Function Coordinator.

With our knowledge of our region and local services we are able to assist in all aspects of planning including entertainment, photography, flowers, transport, and accommodation.

Please see an outline of our food and beverage packages below comprising options for Canapés, Bread, Entrée, Main, Side, Dessert and Cheese.  In addition, you of course have the option to personalise your function in relation to the food and beverage package that best suits your needs.

• in the event that any ingredient listed is not available an appropriate seasonal substitute will be made.
• all prices include GST.
• where two options are available they will be served in the alternate.

The Rule & The Exception

Our Reserve wines may be included over and above the wines in either of these drinks packages for an additional $10 per person

Underage beverage package

applicable for teenagers between the age of 13 & 17

Pissaladiere – a small French pizza with caramelized onion, anchovy & olives
Sigari boregi – a Turkish cigar shaped pastry stuffed with fetta & herbs

Calamari fritti with aioli and green salad
Spagatini with cherry tomatoes, basil, crispy prosciutto, chilli oil and parmesan

Function Terms of Business

VENUE HIRE

There is no venue hire  for exclusive use of our cellar door outside our regular business hours
For exclusive use of our cellar door during regular business hours - $5000

For smaller functions less than 20 people please contact our Function Coordinator at Fowles Wine to discuss the customised  options we have available.

The Food & Beverage package entitles the client to access food & beverage service for a 5 hour period (i.e. 6.00pm – 11.00pm)

For functions continuing later than 11.30pm there is an additional $250 per hour, or part thereof.

Beverage service in excess of the standard 5 hour function is charged at a 20% of the package rate per person per hour.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of $500 is required to secure your booking date.

In the event of a cancellation, the deposit will be refunded upon written notification until 1 month prior to your nominated date.

Cancellation within the 1 month period prior to your nominated date will render your deposit non-refundable.

PAYMENT

Your function food and beverage package will need to be confirmed one month prior to booked date inclusive of special dietary requirements.

Final guest numbers will need to be confirmed two weeks prior to your function, this number is the minimum number invoiced. Additional numbers will be charged accordingly.

There is a 15% surcharge on the total function amount on public holidays.

Any incidentals or increase in numbers will be payable at the conclusion of your function.

LICENSING

Due to licensing regulations, no spirits, mixed drinks or wines other than Fowles Wine wines are to be served at any function.

Due to Health Regulations food can only be supplied, prepared and served by
Fowles Wine staff.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR GUESTS AND CONDUCT

The person responsible for the booking will be liable for any damage incurred during the function by guests attending the function. This person should also be aware that as a working winery some hazards may exist outside the confines of the cellar door and they have a duty of care for any guests entering those areas.

ADDITIONAL TERMS OF BUSINESS THAT MAY APPLY TO YOUR FUNCTION

Food & Wine

Due to seasonality there may be occasion where ingredients become unavailable, in this instance an appropriate substitute will be made.

The tasting notes have been provided as a guide but please note that characteristic variations can occur in different vintages.

As a duty of care to your guests please understand it is your responsibility to inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements your guests may have.

Mixing of Package Options

The package options have been setup as fixed packages.  In some instances we may be able to alter the menu setup and wine selections on special requests

Wedding Cake

Wedding cake will not be served as a dessert substitute. We are happy however to portion the cake and display it on a table for guests to help themselves.

Decorations

All decorations including table centre pieces are an additional cost.  Any decorations, or structures intended for decoration other than floral arrangements must be approved by the Fowles Wine Function Coordinator prior to the function.  All decorations or structures brought to Fowles Wine Cellar Door is at your risk.

Place Names

Table place names if required must be supplied 48 hours prior to the function.  All names are to be clearly typed showing both first name and surname.  A seating plan must be supplied in accordance with the function set up identifying the positions of the place names.

Entertainment

All entertainment is at additional cost (including incidental music). Details of set up arrangements must be approved by Fowles Wine Function Coordinator prior to function.  All set up must be completed one hour prior to commencement of function.

Confetti & Rice

Confetti, rice or glitter must not be brought into the cellar door or outside areas at any time.

Gifts and Personal Property

You are responsible for any theft, loss or damage to any property, merchandise, gifts, or personal items brought onto Fowles Wine property by you, any attendees at your function or any other persons.  Fowles Wine is not responsible for any such theft, loss or damage.
